Content-area collaborations for secondary grades
"This book will serve a need for secondary school librarians who want to use AASL's National School Library Standards to collaborate with content area teachers. Each chapter will highlight a shared foundation (Inquire, Include, Collaborate, Curate, Explore, Engage) and will demonstrate a sample unit of study that connects the AASL standards with other national standards (English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, the Arts, ITSE's technology standards, etc.) highlighting the benefits of collaborative teaching for student learning. Unit ideas, inquiry projects, research that requires critical thinking, and assessments will be included. Tips will also be included in each chapter that will further assist in comprehending and effectively using the AASL Standards"-- Provided by publisher.
